Penku Jant – Lever du Soleil empowers single mothers and their children in Casamance, Senegal, in a sustainable way. Through education, childcare, and practical training, new opportunities arise for leading self-determined lives.

Our approach combines social support, skill development, and personal responsibility. Women acquire professional and entrepreneurial competencies while their children are nurtured in a safe environment. Young women receive training and internship opportunities in the social sector—and later pass on their knowledge as mentors.

In the long term, Penku Jant’s impact extends far beyond the project itself: local partnerships ensure strong community roots, the combination of education and income strengthens entire communities, and the multiplier approach creates a model that can grow and be implemented in other regions.
