Finances

The financing of Penku Jant – Lever du Soleil is based on long-term and careful financial planning. All funds are used responsibly and for their intended purpose, ensuring they directly benefit women and children in Casamance and generate sustainable impact.

Our Funding Sources:

The project is supported through a variety of contributions:

  • Foundations and grants for setup, infrastructure, and personnel
  • Members, sponsors, and patrons who provide regular support
  • Donations and crowdfunding from the community
  • Fundraising events to raise awareness and generate resources
  • Income from in-house production and course offerings starting in 2027, gradually strengthening financial independence

From the third year of the project, an own-financing rate of approximately 20% is expected.

Use of Funds:

Financial resources are allocated transparently and purposefully:

  • Infrastructure & Construction (approx. 50%)
    Development and equipment of the education and care center in Casamance
  • Personnel & Training (approx. 10%)
    Employment and professional development of local staff and trainers
  • Programs & Activities (approx. 10%)
    Training materials, childcare, transportation, and practical learning opportunities
  • Operations & Maintenance (approx. 15%)
    Energy, water, maintenance, and materials
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (approx. 7%)
    Impact assessment, reporting, and quality assurance
  • Reserves & Contingencies (approx. 8%)
    Safety reserve to secure ongoing operations
